What is frostwire if I may ask? I would love to have something that could auto stop downloads for me. Or it was it NAV that stopped it? Either way did it liereally automatically stop it without your control? And for me when NAV gave me the pop up Im pretty sure I stopped the download manually(you know like in order to preview) |
frostwire kinda like lime pro if it was free FrostWire.com - Official Website - Free BitTorrent/Gnutella Client - No subscriptions, Just download and install also has chat btw im frostwire/irc chat support my frost alerted me by stopping the transfer as well as norton popping up |
But how does frostfire detect the viruses? And if they detect them shouldnt they have eliminated the files already before somebody dls it? And it probaly wont detect SOME hidden viruses right? I hope that detecter is very reliable. Also I looked at the link and noticed "fire wall to firewall transfers". What does that mean? And if Frostwire is better then why doesnt everyone use it? Are there files that you can dl by frostwire that may have viruses? Or are all files 100% safe? What kind of message do you get if you DL a file with a virus like you said? |
i saw it on frost ONCE something like problem with file i forgot exact message preference FROST LIME are SAME except chat irc few extras there are tons ppl that use both deepens if you want chat or not or if u want support room the fire wall transfer thing idk you need go read frosts forum NO TREAT EVERY file as dangerous and scan everything i use frost bc im support team i switched from bearshare to lime for about 2 seconds then frost i cant explain any better im only going on way frost works compared to lime so i cant really help |
You know how with limewire you search something, download, and it hooks your computer to theirs to download the file like limewire or frostwire? Is there anything like that BUT they check the files(they being the people who made it) for viruses? Basically anything completely safe like limewire. |
You are using peer-to-peer file-sharing software. No one monitors, scans, or even keeps a list of what peers do on the gnutella network. That's the only way it continues to exist, as opposed to Napster. If you want guaranteed safety with downloads you'll have to subscribe to a commercial service. Never, NEVER, open a file to see if it contains a virus. That's like drinking a liquid to see if it's poison. Read about avoiding problems with dls in this forum (Getting Started Using LW), read about using Peer Guardian and Bitzi. Or, just buy the two songs you want and have no worries. |
