Every time I try to install Lime Wire Version 5.2.13, a messsage shows up that says, "Could not open input file for splittet files." What does this means?

Did you click on all the links within the original link that I gave? Especially this one LimeWire Forums ?
That fix is the first one that someone came up with & has fixed the issue for a lot of people.

Do you use Kapersky? Your problem might be another security program. Although it sounds risky, disable all security programs temporarily & try again.

Also, there are some spyware programs that are anti p2p sharing programs. These will stop programs like LW working & may damage them. Be sure you put LW on their safe list or instead use a p2p safe spyware program.

If using the 'Other' version doesn't work it probably suggests a java issue or security programs issue.
