installshield msi 1628 error & ALL other Installation ERROR numbers & problems

Someone please help me! Everytime I try to install limewire 4.0.8 I get a "1628: Failed to complete installation" message and I don't know what to do. I have a 2.8ghz pentium 4 processor with windows xp home.

Any reply or suggestions would be appreciated. thanx.

You can try the International installer instead (has solved many installations probs - but it's a much larger file to dwnld.) OR/&

If you can't find any solution to this issue. And that means even seeing if there's any update to your installshield engines: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322 & also http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108158

Then as a last resort, dwnld the LW international installer. It's a much larger dwnld. It's disadvantage is it forces LW to use Java 1.3 which is a little out of date. But it does use a different type of installer.

Sorted. It was the 2nd link that helped, reinstalling the script worked a treat. Thanks for the help

Another link which might be helpful is THIS which is a similar story but different solution. I thought I would Sticky this for those with similar problems of installing. To reiterate, update your installshield install engine.
