| I have never tried to filter out downloads by using the "Control Panel" functionality, it would be much easier using my firewall to keep these things out. However, I would suggest that most users stay away from the "Control Panel" unless they are absolutely sure they know are doing, it's one of those no-no's in windows that you don't mess with unless you have to.
Saying that, I will check when I get home to see if what your saying is true, I can't check on my work PC because the " IT policies" are tightly tied down.
