Fractions I usually obtain the figure for one-half by pressing and holding Alt and typing in the numbers 0189 (on the right-hand side of the keyboard) but all of a sudden this won't work! I use Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Word. Thank you for helping me out of my frustration! Joe |

How do you type Fractions? Joe I can't help you with your query but perhaps you can help me with mine. Way back when, at the time I used Word Perfect 5.1, someone created "fractions and shape fonts (as I remember them)" for Word Perfect and I used those fonts when I needed to type and print fractions. However, since the world (and his wife) changed to MS Word I, like most people, stopped using fractions. So my query is this, is there some sort of table where I can look up the keystrokes for fractions, just like your Alt + 0189 produces ½. UK Bob |

Sorry I can't help you as I am not technically-minded and at age 75 I still consider myself a beginner in computer navigation. I keep taking copious notes about several computer problems that frustrate me, I mean solutions to those problems when I get them, as I tend to be rather forgetful and often repeat mistakes if I don't consult my printed notes. If I am answering your query late, do please excuse me as my memory often plays tricks with me these days. Last but not least, many thanks for helping me. Joe |
