Default Sharing Your Computer with the kids

marcusj

Being a Father myself, I do know where you are coming from because 2 or 3 years ago I suffered the same fate as you , i.e. one of my kids downloaded a virus/trojan onto my PC and Norton AV did not spot it.

And likewise, I had to have a complete reformat and re-install done but I also took the opportunity to do some upgrade work as well.

Anyway, the only way to insure that your PC remains virus free is to buy your kids their own PC. And since my lads got their own PCs my machine has been virus free (and as a precaution, I changed the password on it so they couldn't use it behind my back).

So, if and when you can, you should have a PC for you and the wife and one for the kids.

You know, there is no such thing as a (virus free) "family" computer.
