![]() Hey all. I just signed in to this forum, I'm currently using limewire 4.14.8, i tried to use the newest version before the huge increase in MB. at any rate, I've talked to many tech geeks and from what I understand the old limewire 4 versions are better, can anyone tell me why they are all unanimous in this decision? Simply, DEEZY. |

![]() Lots of people hate(d) LW 5 because it's very different to LW 4. Earlier versions of 5 had a lot of tools missing & were a bit buggy. The more recent versions have improved a lot IMO. But things are still not the same as LW 4... just for example you can't change skins, direct connect has been replaced by a Friends 'feature', options layout has changed a lot, if a file's deemed dangerous then it's deleted before download completes, incomplete files aren't listed in the Library any more... way too many changes to try & list here in one go ![]() Probably the best thing to do is have a look at the changelog here: Changelog - LimeWire You'll see the changes that have been made since LW 4. You could also search this forum for threads & the LW forums (there's a specific LW 5 section there, also Bugs & Beta Testing section for info about various versions): LimeWire Forums Providing you have your 4.14.8 installer saved, you can download the latest basic (free) release & give it a try if you like: Download LimeWire 5.4.6 - Lime Wire If you don't like it then just reinstall your original version ![]() |

![]() Thanks Birdy, with all the new features added, I assume this is the reason for a dramatic increase in MB usage. Correct Also, does the newer versions give me more song availability? Maybe there's a forum for such information as well. Simply, Darryl |
