![]() Just joined hoping to find a fix for Cabos problem. When I open Cabos a window opens saying "Java software cannot be loaded". Has anyone encountered this problem and if so, were you able to fix it? Thanks in advance! Luther |

![]() Sounds like you need to uninstall all versions of Java then reinstall the latest version. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html but of course ignore the portion about re-installing LimeWire. Cabos uses the LW core however has a different & more simplistic interface. I haven't tried Cabos in ages since before LW 5 came out. I don't know if the newer Cabos is based on LW 4 or LW 5 code. BTW you probably should delete your Cabos preferences also. ![]() |

![]() LOR thanks for the reply! Deleted Java and Cabos, re-downloaded and installed both and still no luck. The program was working fine until a few days before my post. It still works on my laptop so I'm thinking it's my desktop computer being unco-operative. |

![]() I opened every folder contained in the Cabos folder in program files and couldn't find preferences. When Cabos opens and the Java software thing pops up there are two radio butoons to choose from. One is "More Info" which takes you to the Java site and the other is "Quit" Both buttons immediately close Cabos when pressed. |

![]() Both Cabos and Java are the latest version. I've been racking my brain and it's possible that there was an automatic Java update about a week ago. Perhaps I should delete Java and try installing older versions until Cabos will work gain? |

![]() That's an option .. and jump back to previous Java version. They do have previous releases at the Java site. BTW in my first suggestion post, did you remove all versions of java, clean registry before reinstalling Java? Sometimes elements of older versions linger behind & muck up the operation of the later versions of Java. Or programs see it as being an earlier version of Java, etc. |

![]() I think I'll wait for my brother to do the registry clean. He works as an IT specialist. I tried copying my Cabos folder from my laptop to my desktop and still got the Java software problem so I'm thinking it's a setting on the desktop PC. I'll post results after the regisry clean up is done. Thank you for all your help!! |
