Unhappy help

i had problems with limewire so i uninstalled it and then downloaded the newest version. But the new version won't start and when i try to uninstall it, it says that it cannot be performed because it could not find " LaunchAnywhere". What can I do??

That means you installed the international version & not the english version. The international (multilingual) version uses the InstallAnywhere and installs Java 1.3 (and enforces that LimeWire use it.) This may be why you had problems. trying to open it. LW needs a later version of Java. To remove this version of LW you should find an uninstaller within the LW program folder.

After uninstalling, next time choose the english installer (yes it can still use other languages), but install Java 1st: Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

Try the main installer you started off with.

Inside your LW program folder there should be another folder called: UninstallerData, & inside there is a program called: Uninstall LimeWire, so double-click that & you'll be on your way!

So you also tried the Add/Remove Programs control panel? If that doesn't work then send the LW folder to the recycle bin.

Anyway, after getting rid of it. Reinstall LW using the english installer. May I suggest you install the beta 4.3.3 since it has overcome some bugs that LW 4.2 had. Get it here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml or if you're a Pro user you'll find it at the bottom of your personal downld page.
