i keep trying to update limewire and keep getting this error message! I tried the link up above and it still doesn't work. Can anybody help!

Have you been using Java 1.6.0_02 for a while? Some people have had trouble with that version. Try this older Java instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version(s) before you install this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Now reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer. When you've clicked to download LW & the download box pops up, cancel it. You'll see an option to download the offline installer;)

If things are still stuffed, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things.

I recently purchased a new laptop that has windows vista. I have been trying to install limewire for days now, and I continue to get the "the installation is corrupted please download and install again" message. I've tried multiple times and nothing seems to work! I've read almost every page of this thread, trying all the tips people have posted and still nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Upgrade to newer version - now PRO gone??
 

Can someone help!! I had PRO 4.12 and I upgraded to the 4.14 but PRO is gone. Do I have to pay again to upgrade to PRO since I downloaded the newer version???? Thanks for your help on this!! Much appreciated.:gimmimore:

Hello all. Looking for some help.
I have downloaded the JRE java offline, and downloaded LW basic offline. When the LW set up dialog box pops up I choose English... then it stops at Firewall Set Up and there are no next buttons. It just freezes up and shows LW 12% HTML loading. And that's all I get. I've installed and reinstalled 3 times. I tried to find the LW preferences but it's not showing up in my docs and settings.
Any ideas?

The preferences folder's hidden by default...see here for how to show hidden files & folders in Vista.

Did the installation actually finish?? Unless LW's properly installed, I'm not sure that you'll have a preferences folder.

i used the above link and it says

I am have the ecact same problem that ADuncan is having . I have had LW for several years and a few day ago it froze up at 12%. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, it then showed me a message that another limewire was running in the background. I did a search and completely deleted and uninstalled everything with lime wire. I then reinstalled and it has frozen up again at 12%. What is the problem and how can i fix this. Getting very disgusting. Never had problems before
