tried that. Still get same mess. Tells me install complete, hit run button, select language then get the LW set up screen. Push next to install & thats when I get mess

Make sure you are your computers administrator...If you are try this...

Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link...

okay i'm having some trouble with limewire. at the college that i'm going to next year they recommended that we get the labtops through the college so that we get all the support we want, free upgrades, etc. what i came to find out during my orientation was that at my school we can download limewire, so i figured i would just do it at home. i've tried and tried to get it to download but as soon as it starts installing i get an installation error, saying that the installation failed and it stops in mid process. then my new labtop says to install it using their recommended process, but it just does the same thing. so i don't know if it's my computer or if it has something to do with my college blocking me from downloading it

can anyone help, pleaseeeee???

I am have the ecact same problem that ADuncan is having . I have had LW for several years and a few day ago it froze up at 12%. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, it then showed me a message that another limewire was running in the background. I did a search and completely deleted and uninstalled everything with lime wire. I then reinstalled and it has frozen up again at 12%. What is the problem and how can i fix this. Getting very disgusting. Never had problems before

What version of Java are you using? Some people have had this trouble with the latest Java versions. Try this older Java instead. Download the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version(s) before you install this one.

If things are still stuffed, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).

This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things.

Hi,

I have tried to install several times and I keep getting:

" Limewire cannot create uninstall information. Installation will now exit. Restarting your computer can often fix this."

I tried restarting with no success.

What can I do?

BTW, it's the free version and before I had it installed but for some reason the uninstaller was not present. I had to delete it manually.

I cant install limewire. It goes as far as installing then stops. The icon is on my desktop but will not open. It never gets as far as the setup. Please help me.

I've been trying to update my limewire all it did was error and uninstall it from my computer and it continues to error when I try to reinstall it. I just want my limewire back, how do I fix this?
