Help!!!! LimeWire failed to start because verify.dll was not found!

I have downloaded the newest version of Limewire. Everything runs smoothly until I click on run Limewire (at the end of installation) where nothing happens.

I then try to click on the desktop shortcut (i also tried going through the start menu) and a warning comes up saying "This application has failed to start because verify.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

What do I do??

Uninstall LW and all Java versions on your system. Reboot and then download the JRE offline installer of the newest Java version from here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
Install it and reboot again, then reinstall LW.

how do i delete the java forms???

Go START>Control Panel>Add/Remove Program and then remove it....

Should I be downloading the regular download for LW or the offline version???

Try always to use the off line versions of programs.
After you have uninstalled both, LW and the Java, download both off line installers (LW & Java), then install the Java first and reboot, then LW....

My suggestions are based on my experience of common problems. However, sometimes those initial suggestions do not solve a problem and then we have to try to find other reasons/ causes for users problems....

After reinstalling Java, "if" LW doesn't start, then go to start menu, Programs > LW > Uninstall. Then download the Other version: Download ‘Other’ version & simply unzip & use!
