Unhappy Second time to ask this...

I haven't had limewire for a while because my hard drive crashed and then I've been off the net for a while too...When I go to LimeWire and try to enter my email address, it says that address is not found. I have several old emails from limewire with that address so I know it's the correct one. I'm not interested in the new pro version that is out now. I only want the one I paid for back. Does anyone know the answer as to why it will not accept my email address? It let me sign in here with my old forum log in. If there isn't an answer I would appreciate knowing that also. Thanks! RaeRae

If you bought your Pro version more than 6 months ago, your email address won't be in the database anymore. If that's the case with you, that'd be why your email address isn't found. If you did buy less than 6 months ago, let us know

LW doesn't keep a backlog of old Pro versions for download...it's the user's responsibility to save & back up their Pro installers.

Default I want what I paid for...

How could I have saved a backup when my hard drive crashed? Dell replaced my entire hard drive because they couldn't get it to work either. It's been more than 6 mos. This is unfair of limewire to work it this way so people have to pay more than once. Their terms state otherwise. RaeRae
Also, I just checked my email and I have a reply from you there. If it's not in the database then how do you suppose that happened? I'm frustrated!

Less than 6 mos since I've been online and used limewire...more than six months since I first purchased pro...

What happens is this: You pay for LW Pro & that entitles you to free updates & email support for up to 6 months. So after the 6 months, your email address is no longer in the database (simply because you're entitled to support for 6 months but no longer). If you don't renew after 6 months, you're no longer a Pro subscriber so it stands to reason that your email address won't be in the Pro subscribers' database.

Everyone is given the chance to renew their Pro subscription for a reduced fee after 6 months...it's just over $14 USD (I'm not exactly sure of the amount, it's been a while since I renewed mine). If you don't take that option, your email address will be removed from the database because you're not a Pro subscriber.

RaeRae, don't get shitty with me. I don't work for LimeWire. I'm just helping in this forum. But it really is your responsibility to back up your installers...not just LW Pro, but any installer that you've paid for & downloaded via the internet. I save all of my installers to an external HDD...because otherwise I'm stuffed if my computer dies, aren't I? It's common sense really.

But, I do think that LW should add something to their Pro download information. It should clearly state, in big letters, that the purchaser of Pro is entitled to use the versions that they download forever, BUT that that purchaser is solely responsible for the saving & backup of any Pro installers that they download during the period of their LW Pro subscription. Maybe if they did that, there could be absolutely no confusion as to where they stand when their Pro installers are lost.

Default Misunderstanding

I apologize if it sounded all directed at you...it was not. I'm not sure of where to do backups when you lose your hard drive. I'm not that computer savvy. Anyway I will just use the free version from now on. It seemed to download faster than the Pro anyway. Before I bought the pro it only took hours to download something. After I bought it it took days. So thanks for all your help and for the time you've taken. You guys are a great help! When do you find time for yourself? Anyway, no need for a reply. Take care and thanks. RaeRae.
