Default LimeWire will not run

Hi Everyone. I downloaded limewire and everything installed and correctly. When I clicked to open limewire, it went through the whole setup process, and then the little green limewire startup box popped up and ran through its process and went all the way to 100% then the box dissappeared and that was it. So I am wondering why limewire wont run. Can someone please help. Thanks

You need Java to run Limewire. See Link below.

Try uninstalling your current version of java from the add/remove programs(reboot), then d/load and install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12(use the offline installer): Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5.
Hope this helps.

Hey 19, Sorry I think I gave you the wrong version. Try this one. Make sure you use the OFFLINE INSTALLER.

Try this older Java instead. Download the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version(s) before you install this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Delete the JDK version before you install the J2SE version

Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things.
