Help!! Limewire won't initialize/install properly!!! I have just downloaded the basic version of Limewire n everything seems to be goin well until I click to run the program. I go through the setup dialog boxes and get to the window that's called Firewall Setup, go to click "Next" but when I do nothing happens and I cannot get past it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times but it still won't work. I've tried goin through it without any firewall and it still won't work. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java but it's made no difference. What do I do?? Please help!! |
Try installing limewire using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire |
Thanks for your help. I tried the offline installer butI still get the same problem =( Is there anything else I can try to get this sorted? |
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version.... Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Then try the offline installer for limewire again...;) |
It still didn't work :( |
It could be your security having a wobbly.. Try disabling all your security apps including your firewall and then try downloading again... |
I tried doing that too :( Well I've disabled the firewall n tried it n the same thing happens. So frustrating :/ |
Running LW Hi, I'm afraid I'm no help but wondering if you fixed your problem. I have installed LW basic (Several times!) Then I click on the LW icon and pick US english, folder etc. I get to the Firewall Setup Window. It shows several examples of screens that could come up and asks if I am getting security warnings. I don't and there are no other options. Did you ever get yours running? |
Nope unfortunately I still haven't managed to sort it n have kinda given up on trying to install it! =( |
