![]() Update note: Upgrading to 4.17.0 Beta does not fix the problem, exact same results as the 4.16.2 version, As I am a new Pro user and have no other basic versions, I am unable to test early versions. I am still looking forward to any help I can recieve. Also after more research I found http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...g-limwire.html http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...on-t-open.html http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...even-open.html The above posts look like they could be the same issue as my problem that I am having. I am posting them here mainly for my own reference so I can quickly check if they have had any replys as I feel there is a good chance they are the same issue. This post is just to explain that after all trouble shooting steps with LimeWire Pro v.4.17.0 Beta that it is having the exact same issue as with the 4.16.2 version. Next step will be checking with LimeWire - OldVersion.com and try installing LimeWire 4.12.6 I will keep you all updated. I hope I can get this thing working, or at least find a fix. Please feel free to post if you have any ideas. Thanks Note to Moderator: If outside links are not allowed please remove the last paragraph and accept my apologies (Just trying to give everyone ideas to fix this issue). Thank You. |

![]() Steps taken to fix issue: Uninstalled all Java versions (Again for the 20th time) Installed LimeWire Pro 4.16.3 (Compatibility options - Run this program in...Windows 2000 with Admin rights) Attempted to open, and was asked to install Java (no kidding, lol) Installed Java(TM) 6 Update 3 - Download Java software for Windows from Sun Microsystems Attempted to open LimeWire Pro 4.16.3 again, and opened fine. Reinstalled old Java Software for my other java programs and my own apps JavaDB 10.2.2.0 Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 SDK Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 3 Rechecked LimeWire Pro 4.16.3 to verify it is still working, restarted to make sure it is not a windows fluke. All looks good. If you are having a problem with LW not opening, and you know it’s not your firewall or anything else, I would try the above steps to see if it works for you as well. I hope I have saved someone else countless hours of trouble shooting. Side note: It should be noted that I never had a folder located in C:\Users\<<user>>\AppData\Roaming\LimeWire if you have this folder I would remove it first so you are on the same page as my steps. I look forwarded to seeing if this fixes anyone else’s problems. Note to Moderator: Sorry for spamming my own post, but I thought it might be helpful to others.
