hi new to llimeware forum but not limewire, recently i had a pc crash and when it came back up i was missing my free edition of limewire ive been useing for 2 years, i went onto the limewire home page and downloaded the newer free version (basic) and when it loaded after 2 hrs (i have dial up) IT SAID --CAN NOT LOAD LIMEWIRE UNINSTALL AND RE INSTALL ive done this 2 x now and still the same what am i doing wrong, or what do you think is my problem!!!!. i took the old out in remove programs, i have the required java 6 do i need the version i had before? the 4 version? please please help me figure this out as I MISS MY LIMEWIRE LOL

Try this technique for reinstalling http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html it will clean the system at same time.
Delete the LW preferences also.

I know how frustrating dial up can be & will take you a while simply to download the offline version installers.

If still problems try steps 5 & 6 for Fixes for LW (the link in the link I gave you.)
