Spam. Learn about spam. ) Such files at the site may be bugged with viruses, & the site will definitely log your ip address! See these links for tips: How to find music

With some more experience you will probably be able to identify such spam files in your search results. Look at such things as file size, bit-rate, length of song, album if listed, etc. If you know a little about audio files, you will know that bit-rate & file size per time-length of the song are partly related.
Do not download audio files that do not show bit-rates.
Any file less than 2 MB (2,000 KB) is probably either spam or not what you are looking for if you are searching for music. You can use your search filter to filter search results via size. ;) If list search results in Classic mode, you can list songs via bit-rate via clicking the Bit-rate column heading. Right-click the heading column bar to get menu to see more options if you do not see bit-rate column. :)

(I edited your first post so it does not show a live active weblink. There are options when posting or editing in advanced mode to not link/retrieve/parse.) :)

Ok gang , my pirate limewire is not connecting to the internet ; is there a problem ;

is it related to the news report that was on the radio 3 days ago about limewire agreeing to pay 100 million dollars in damages ???

runt66 May 15th, 2011 06:38 PM

Sorry , as you were ,

it seems to have fixed itself now ;

1. Try rebooting computer. 2. Try rebooting router. 3. The following things should not be necessary, but worth trying: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html
Example, sometimes disabling TLS can help with connecting.
Another option of course is deleting your LW preferences folder, saving your downloads.dat & possibly your library5.dat files.

Do i reboot the router by just switching my bigpond 2wire modem off and then on ???

Yes. ;) And even better is to leave it off for around a minute.

Is there anybody else in the household who uses LW?

If worse comes to worst, delete the LW preferences folder, uninstall LW, & then reinstall LW LPE. Run it once, then close. Then replace the new Downloads.dat file with one you backed up. LPE seems to work well on clean installs.
LPE installer links are found in post #1 on page 1 of this thread.

References to deleting the LW preferences folder & saving the Downloads.dat file: Windows and MacOSX. On Windows, if you have system settings set to hide file extensions, then the downloads.dat file will simply be called downloads.

If you still have problems after this, then looks like the problem is something else, perhaps the router configuration (or/& home network setup if running a network.) However, BigPond are not the most trustworthy ISP out there, some of their services do have limitations. Especially their radio wireless services.

And on topic of BigPond, if requested by USA's RIAA & their Australian office about file sharing by anybody, they do not respect the persons privacy. USA executives at Telstra sell the company out I guess. Optus have been guilty of this also. iiNet on other hand refuse to give an inch, basically telling them where to go so to speak. lol
