lanita - when you uninstalled limewire did you also delete the limewire
folder from the programs before you downloaded the new limewire version.
Did you do it like this :-
[1] Uninstall the old version before installing the new v Uninstall Limewire by using LW uninstall program not the add/remove control panel Start -> All Programs -> Limewire -> Uninstall [2] Delete the old LW folders from the Programs directory before installing the new version v c:\Program Files\Limewire <--- (delete this folder) [3] Download/Install new version of LW [4] If you are using JRE-6 (java script) and still have problems download the older version – JRE-5 from here:- (uninstall JRE-6 first) If you did it like this then the only other problem I could see and have experienced was the deleting of the gnutella.net file -- downloading a new gnutella.net.net file and rename it to gnutella.net -- as mentioned in earlier threads --
