I didn't change anything on the system but now, out of the blue,I have sometimes immediately contact with LimeWire ( the brick wall is gone )
and sometimes there is no contact (???).

Hi Willy, please update your java use this link (
java versions) use the offline version -- before you install the latest version ensure that you delete the old version from your add/remove programs -- try that -- if still no connection TRY THIS :-
Delete the LW Preference Folder : In windows XP they can be found here:- Make sure your Limewire is closed Preference File in XP SP2
(you must show all hidden files)
[1] Open windows explorer select Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Show hidden files and folders.
[2] In windows explorer look for the Limewire Folder – go here:-
c:\documents and settings\username\applications data\LimeWire <--(delete) (or)
c:\documents and settings\username\limewire <-- (delete)
Now restart your Limewire
