I solved this problem for just about a week ago.. It turned out to be that my ISP was blocking almost every port I had access to before..
So, double-check with your ISP's before doing anything..

9. Who is your ISP?
Cox.net

11. ... I am using the Linksys for a home LAN with a laptop, but the laptop does not have this software and is off most of the time.
(a) With Norton, you always need to re-add LW firewall rule (delete previous rule) when updating either LW or norton.

(b) With the WRT54G, they are a "lemon" in the respect their firmware has bugs and Linksys never repaired them all. It is best run in Port Forward. I would recommend you port forward it for this computer.
Most important step is step 1: Static ip for XP ______ 2. Find your model here PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall and find LW on next link and follow instructions.

(c) Cox have been known to be not especially p2p friendly, and have been known to block certain users using p2p programs.

(d) Make sure you use a different connection port from any other LW being used on the LAN network.

Hey what I'm totally new at this whole firewall thing. I don't have Linksys but I'm having a similar issue. No firewalls on, but can't even search a song.

Suggestions?

Currently using Windows XP 2002. Oh and this issue comes and goes...

Thanks

Shanna

Run through these tips first: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html

Also make sure your XP firewall has LW as an exception. User Cant Connect - LimeWire

If still problems, post back more details if you can about your set up: System details - help us to help you (click on blue link)

Did you set up a static ip first before doing the port forwarding? Else the pf rule would not work. You'd need to remove & do it again. Other options: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html

You could also try an older version. You'd need to remove the present one first. LimeWire - OldVersion.com LW 4.16 or 4.12 are the ones to try.
