| Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

 i have the same problem with the firewall. i have no security so should not have a firewall problem and it wont turn off. any ideas how to fix this anybody??  |

| It could be an ISP issue, I know Cox are know to shape p2p... Just check that the help the tech gave you are similar to this... Port Forwarding for the McAfee Security Center But you could try these fixes and see if they help... Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(4th one down) Java SE Downloads Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer... Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should If it still won't open uninstall Java again and roll back to the JRE 5.11 using the offline installer (5th one down).... | Still no connection, and down to the last two recommendations If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder... Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should I do not have a "limewire" folder under the Application Data subfolder...only a ".limewire" folder under c/documents and settings/my name. If it still won't open uninstall Java again and roll back to the JRE 5.11 using the offline installer (5th one down).... Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5 I cannot find this JRE 5.11. The fifth one down is another program. Thanks again... almost there! |
