![]() im getting the same message... on my old computer lime wire worked perfectly but since we got the new one its showing me the "limewire is currently connecting to network your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network." pop up! i think this is possibly from our anti virus soft ware.. 1. OS version? vista 2. What firewalls you have? ehh?? duno! 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? broadband 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from house 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? limewire 4.14.8 and java 1.5.0_03 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?smart telecom 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? ya it says the test worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs?no dnt hink so..? 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.it worked on my old computer!! 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?ya theres a wall 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?huh?? 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall ![]() 16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland).ireland!! i think it is that firewall thingy thats the problem...but im worried about changing settings in case i get viruses from other sites ... can someone help me out..im also sorry i dnt no much aobut computers so couldnt answer some of the questions above!! |

![]() LeeNags Try this I had this same problem and fixed it by:- [1] Uninstall the old version before installing the new -- delete the old LW folders from the Programs directory before installing the new version [2] Ensure that you have java script J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 (Jre ver 5) if not download from here:- Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 * Uninstall Limewire by using LW uninstall program not the add/remove control panel start -> all Programs -> Limewire -> Uninstall This should fix your problem -- please let us know -- Thanx Bi 4 now
