![]() I don't understand why but it seems that in the last month when I open the LW icon and I start searching for a song or a movie there's a window popping up saying "Limewire is trying to connect to..." and this keeps on going on for 10 mins or so! I'm not sure I should dowoload the new version? I was told that sometimes if you do so, all what you've downloaded get cancelled? ![]() Pls help... |

![]() Maybe I should rephrase what I said above. Basically when I connect there's a message saying "LW is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network" and there are red bars on the bottom left (they’re usually green when it works properly). I tried the test as per http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ and it does work. What else I'm supposed to do? I had a look at some advises but i'm not sure I understand what I have to do???? I dowlloaded the better version, 4.1, but still I have the same issue. PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks. |

![]() Hi kitkat - Please read the sticky threads at the top of page 1 your problem/answer could be in one of these -- the sticky threads are in red sticky If LW will not connect sticky system details sticky connection problems-look here before posting If this doesn't help you - try this:- (it fixed my limewire connection 2 days ago) it's very similar to the sticky "if LW will not connect" the only difference is renaming the gnutella.net.net file to gnutella.net -- so start here:- [1] Open windows explorer select Tools à Folder Options à View à Show hidden files and folders. [2] In windows explorer look for the Limewire Folder – go here:- c:\documents and settings\username\applications data\limewire [3] Ensure that limewire is off - now open the .limewire folder and look for and delete the gnutella.net file – ![]() now download a new version from (here) it will be named gnutella.net.net and save it to your desktop [4] Now drag the new gnutella.net.net file into the limewire folder. [5] Close the LW Folder and start up Limewire – if it still doesn’t connect go back into the limewire folder and rename the new downloaded gnutella.net.net file to gnutella.net (ensure that LW is off before you do this) [6] Close the LW Folder and start up LW again – hopefully your problem is fixed Please let us know how you get on
