Default can't find app data file

following the 1st sticky above, I can't find the application data folder to paste the gnutella.net file I downloaded. I looked in windows explorer also. I did a search for gnutella.netfile.jpg and it doesn't exist.
I'm using xp pro.
what next?

You must show all hidden files like so:-

[1] Open windows explorer:-
select Tools à Folder Options à View à Show hidden files and folders.

[2] In windows explorer look for the Limewire Folder – go here:-
c:\documents and settings\username\applications data\LimeWire
(or)
c:\documents and settings\username\limewire

[3] Ensure that limewire is off -
now open the .limewire folder and look for and delete the gnutella.net file

[4] Now download a new version and save it to your desktop -

[5] Now drag the new gnutella.net file from your desktop into the limewire folder.

[6] Close the LW Folder and start up Limewire

Hope this helps

Thanks!
I still can't connect but that's another step out of the way.

not a problem -- can you pse confirm that the gnutella.net file that you downloaded and put into the limewire folder is named gnutella.net and not gnutella.net.net -- if not right click on gnutella.net.net and select rename and type in gnutella.net now restart LW
