-----

I've never had a problem with LW, but lately for the past two weeks it wasn't been connecting.
It loads fine but the bars constantly say, 'currently connecting', nothing really happens. Beside that the connection (?) says [Arrow Down] 0 @ 0 KB/S [Arrow Up]
0 @ 0 KB/S.
I've done everything, updating the gnutella file, updating Java, deleting the preferences folder, and yes Limewire was fully shut down.
I have no idea what is going on, I've provided the most details that I can.
Help is greatly appreciated.
Any questions, just ask.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Check your control panel - add/remove programs - ensure that there
is only one entry under java if so:-

uninstall your java 1.6.0_03 and download this version
JRE 5 Update 14 - then start LW

If you have multi entries under java - pse delete the lot and reinstall
the latest version and start LW

Connection Problems Too

After I click on LW it gives me a message that one or more files or protocols that LW uses are no longer associated with LW.

It used to work fine. I then had a problem with iTunes and had to call them for help. Knowing nothing about computers, I did exactly what they told me to to get iTunes working again. They told me my problem with iTunes was because of LW. So I'm thinking that maybe they had me to either change or delete a file that I needed for LW.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!:cheesy:

Ok pse try this:- You must show all hidden files like so:-
[1] Open windows explorer:-
select Tools à Folder Options à View à Show hidden files and folders.
[2] In windows explorer look for the Limewire Folder – go here:-
c:\documents and settings\username\applications data\LimeWire
(or)
c:\documents and settings\username\limewire
[3] Ensure that limewire is completely off - (check that the LW icon is not in the system tray at bottom right-if so click on it and exit)
now open the .limewire folder and look for and delete the gnutella.net file

http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/LW_g...1196869679.jpg

[4] Now download a new version of (gnutella.net)and save it to your desktop -
[5] Drag the new gnutella.net file from your desktop into the limewire folder.
[6] Close the LW Folder and start up Limewire

If still no good pse read the sticky threads at the top of page 1 -- these are working aids/guides to help you re-connect

Still nothing is working.
I tried that earlier nothing seems to be working.
I've gone through the sticky thread and I've done everything that is listed for connection problems.

I see you have connected with LW before so I can only presume that yr firewall and router allow LW -- pse try this link (connection troubleshooting)

It was working about 45 minutes ago.
I had to get off for dinner and now it isn't working.
The connections are 'connecting' which is what they weren't doing in the past.
I'll just give it a for more minutes and see if it will start up again.
