I Am Technically Ticked - Connection Problems !!!

I have Limewire downloaded, but at first it said "it was not connected". Now it doesn't say anything. it lets me go in and search, but it doesn't find anything. I put in a name of an artist for a test to see if it works and all it does is put the name at the top and fills up with the color bar, like it is searching, but does not display any songs. I've used Limewire in the past and never had this trouble. I even called my provider <Time/Warner Cable> and they told me its not them. What do I need to do. Or what have I done wrong. Can anyone help me?
