![]() If someone could help me with this problem, it would greatly be appreciated. I'm not sure if it's a connection problem or a download/upload problem. Please let me know which one it is as well as how to fix it. The problem is after I get on the limewire website and & go to search for an artist or song a message appears that says "limewire is currently connecting to the network-your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network". I wait a few minutes ang get no results. This happened to me about a month ago and was corrected with the help of a friend. Since it occurred again we tried the same thing with no results. I tried a few different ways through limewire tech. support but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any idea what is wrong? ![]() |

Try this:- (you must show all hidden files) [1] Open windows explorer (windows XP SP2) select Tools à Folder Options à View à Show hidden files and folders. [2] In windows explorer look for the Limewire Folder – go here:- c:\documents and settings\username\applications data\LimeWire (or) c:\documents and settings\username\limewire [3] Ensure that limewire is completely off (check that it isn't in the system tray-bottom right-if it is click on it and select exit) now open the .limewire folder and look for and delete the gnutella.net file (see image below) ![]() [4] download a new version from (here) and save it to yr desktop [5] Drag the new gnutella.net file from your desktop into the limewire folder. [6] Close the LW Folder and start up Limewire NOTE: If you are using VISTA click on the link below (how to show hidden files in windows vista) -- also you will find the LimeWire folder here:- C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\LimeWire ß(Preference Folder) If this doesn't fix yr problem:- Go to Limewire links (below) click on (if LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if yr problem still remains after this click on (System details) fill in as much as you can and post here

![]() #3 response above worked for me. thanks for suggesting it! i was able to download files and limewire was otherwise working, but i got the error message when doing searches that reads something about you are not connected. i followed the steps above, re-opened limewire, and it's running again for the first time in weeks. i was getting this error and ran the free update. that didn't fix it. but the steps here did. the one tricky thing is that the file you download looks more like a web-page with code written out. but when you save it, it's called the right file name. |
