Cool Starting Connection

Hey Guys,

I am beginning to wonder if there is a problem with Gnutella. I used another P2P prior to LW and when they were shut down, there was no message, it was as if the network just disappeared, so the program could not connect. I have been getting this "Starting Connection" since early yesterday. All my exceptions and settings are fine, just "0" connections showing. There were at least attempts, when this started, but now not even any attempts. This reeks of Feds shutting down Gnutella, just like they did MXPro 3years ago.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) - XP Pro SP2
2. What firewalls you have? - Stop Sign(enabled) and Windows(disabled)
3. How much ram? - 1g
4. Hard Disk space available? - 40g
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) - AT&T DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? - Linksys A+G Wireless
7. Where are you trying to connect from? - House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. - LW 4.14.12 Pro/Java 1.6.02
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? - AT&T
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? - Get "Cannot Display" Message
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. - 2 Wireless via router, both in-house
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. - New Prob/Experienced User
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? - yes_ click here to see Sample image
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? - UPnP
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall - EAcceleration Stop Sign
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). - USA

LW links are changed at times to match the current problems.

Thanks for your reply,

I double checked all my settings and connections on this end and had to start LW to get my version for the sticky, and left it running while I posted here. When I returned, I had a "Fair Connection", then it jumped to "Turbo" w/o the firewall icon. However, there are only 6 connections showing on my connections tab. I am testing a download as I write. With 10 hosts, I'm still only getting about 90k/sec. I have done much better. But at least something is happening.

Thanks
