Default Firewall issues

For the past two days I've been unable to connect. LW is detecting a firewall, even though I;'ve manually turned off my firewall software. I've also tried several of the tips in the "not connecting" thread and nothing works. Any other suggestions? Thanks

I have also been having the same problem. I have enabled the ports that have been suggested, though still cannot connect to the network.

Default I'm tempted to....

....junk the entire LW and download it again. Something in it must be corrupted.

This is ridiculous. I used Limewire for a few yrs, never had an issue, now it's just taking up space on my hard drive. I'm not a tech head, but I know I tried solution # 1 and I don't even get a "tips" box to be able to disable it,lol.

Is there another program that uses Gnutella other than Limewire, honestly, this is just dumb to have such an obvious problem for so long with no fix for the common person.

Any help? another program or something similar that won't make me want to throw my laptop out the window?

thanks

I trashed the LW prefs and it seemed to clear up the problem(for now, anyway).
