when i start limewire/frostwire it says a firewall is blocking the connection, i checked my firewalls and limewire/frostwire is allowed.

anyone got any info on this?

are you using a router if so this will contain a firewall which has to be configured to allow Limewire access -- also ensure that you have one firewall software program running on your computer and not two as this will reduce your security and cause other problems. Some antivirus suites contain a firewall as well as a antivirus program.(nortons, McAfee, Panda) if you do have 2 -- disable your XP/Vista firewall -- have you tried this yet --- In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if still no good click on (system details) fill in and post back here

Hi Guys,

Please help on my connection problem. I am trying to connect to LW but its not connecting. i suspect its firewall or some configuration problem but i am not able to get past it. Windows firewall is off and i dont have any anti V installed but still its not able to connect.

I have tried to enable the windows firewall and later tried to put LW as expection bt still its the same.
Please help

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? LINKSYS, WIRELESS - G2.4 GHz
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? FROM HOME, INDIVIDUAL USER
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help bar > About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.18.7 AND 1.6.0_07
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? ETISALAT _UAE
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? IT WORKED
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NO
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I HAVE BEEN USING LW SINCE QUITE SOME TIME, BUT THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED FOR THE FIRST TIME. OCCASIONALLY IT DIDNT USE TO WORK,BUT NOT FOR SO LONG
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? NO IDEA ABT THAT
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall I HAVE UNINSTALLED THE SECURITY ANTI V PROGRAM (NORTON ANTI V)
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). I AM IN UAE BUT LW WORKS HERE AND HAS BEEN WORKING ON OTHER PC'S
17. Has anything in your setup changed recently? Have you updated your version of LW or Java? Have you added any new software or new hardware? Have you updated any software? Have you moved house, changed internet plan or ISP etc etc? I HAD MY PROCESSOR FAN REPLACED AND EVER SINCE LW IS NOT WORKING. THE LAPTOP STARTED HANGING AND THEN I GAVE IT TO THE SERVICE CENTER.
NO CONSIDERABLE CHANGE IN THE SET UP IS THERE
