![]() Closed group sharing alongside sharing within Gnutella won't be in for some time (except if a Java coder comes along who wants to do it him-/herself ![]() Getting thumbnails of images would be possible, if most clients where Phex', which isn't the current case in Gnutella. But still, it could be done with a search reply extension. The hard thing about it would be to make sure that it can't be misused to attack your computer, and to create the previews automatically for any files. Using PNGs and finding the correct libraries to decode the files could solve that...

So lets say I have a network called Family_And_Friends_007, the settings and shared folder would be in a different folder. So when I choose to use the default network, my private shares will not be available there. This would all be localy, so changing network in Phex would mean switching settings for the sharedfolder. So, I would not need an along side network. When I switch, my network does, my settings do and the shared folder does also. ![]() And about the images, I can see that something is coming to excistence there. ![]() ( Allthough they are still GNUtella this might be possible as an extension.) But it is easy for me to have ideas about it. The programming challence is something else... |

![]() What you could do to work around this problem is to start Phex with the command line option -c <path> in case you use private network. Something like: phex.exe -c c:\temp\mynet will make Phex use your configs in c:\temp\mynet for that session. You could create two desktop/menu icons for private and public network on containing this switch and the other not. |
