To aid helpers in solving download/upload problems, LimeWire and Frostwire users must specify whether they are downloading a torrent file or a file from the Gnutella network. Members need to supply these details >>> System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) Moderators There are senior members on the forums who serve as Moderators. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment.  Les services de sécurité des FAI ne sont tout simplement PAS connus sur le web. Tout ce que j'ai réussi à savoir, c'est que ces logiciels sont de la compagnie Radialpoint. Aucune information sur leur efficacité, leur fonctionnement, leurs failles... Pas de critiques par des usagers et par les sites web traitant de technologie... = Poubelle, le pire, c'est que pour certains abonnés, il font payer ce service alors que s'ils se préoccupaient vraiment de la sécurité de leur abonnées, ils donneraient les liens internet des logiciels gratuits de sécurité qui EUX sont connus et éprouvés. Je ne compte plus le nombre de fois où j'ai vu des gens installer des logiciels sur le CD du FAI, pour effectuer des choses de base et qui ne sont pas nécessaires. Tout ce que les FAI font en fin de compte est de l'argent sur les dos des consommateurs avec ces soit disant logiciels de sécurité et ils ralentissent les machines de leurs abonnés. Un vrai FAI doit rester un FAI: Fournisseur Accès Internet. Point final. Ah oui, Norton, c'est TRÈS mauvais et c'est aussi payant (McAfee aussi est une vraie peste payante). Avast, Antivir, ou AVG qui sont gratuits pour les usages personnels et de surcroit plus sécuritaires, sont à recommander fortement. Pour la vitesse: être Ultrapair n'augmente pas la vitesse, il faut laisser LW décider quel mode est le mieux pour le réseau. Le seul vrai truc qui peut augmenter la vitesse si tu partages beaucoup de fichiers est de limiter la bande passante montante (upload) dans les options de transfert, soit descndre la glissière 5-10Ko/s sous la capacité de ta connexion, ce qui évite la saturation de la ligne. Ce faisant et paradoxalement, la vitesse de téléchargement en sera augmentée. Pour tester ta vitesse en amont et aval, tu peux effectuer le test à cette adresse http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest N'oublie pas de faire la conversion: 1Ko/s = 8 kb/s (1 octet -o- équivaut à 8 bits -b-)

| Merci pour ces informations ! Désolé, j'ai encore des tas de questions...  Alors disons... Avast comme antivirus... Vous me conseillez quoi comme pare-feu ? Ma vitesse via ce test est de : 3957.3 Kbps 485 K bytes/sec et je n'y comprend rien... ça veut dire que j'ai quoi T3 ? Ensuite, si j'ai bien compris, ma bande passante de transfert doit être de moins 5 ou 10 au lieu d'être illimité c'est bien ça ? Ensuite, il faut indiquer quoi dans : Maximum de téléchargement ? Et dans: Transfert par personne ? Et il faut limiter le nombre de transfert simultané de mes fichiers ? (Maximum de transferts) Et le maximum de recherche, vaut-il mieux le limiter aussi pour plus de résultats ? Merci, merci, Milles mercis à ceux qui me répondront....  |

| Pour le parefeu, tu as celui inclu dans Windows XP, il fera l'affaire. SI tu as une autre version de Windows, dis le moi et je te recommanderai une alternative. Tu as une connexion équivalente à une T1/SDSL, alors choisi cette valeur dans les Options - VItesse. Fais appliquer. Dans les Options de transferts, déplace la glissière à 50 Ko/s puisque 485kb/s = 60,6 Ko/s et que l'on retranche 5-10Ko/s à cette valeur. Fais appliquer. Voilà LW est configuré optimalement pour toi. Pour les transferts par personne, les valeurs par défaut sont bien, mais tu peux les modifier à la baisse si tu trouves que ça ralentit LimeWire au niveau de la demande du processeur de ton ordi (s'il ralentit). Pour la recherche, laisse cela tel quel. Ciao

| Merci ! Ma vitesse atteint maintenant entre 5 et 30 ko.   Mais c'est encore très lent, cela doit être à cause de l'antivirus de Vidéotron selon vous ? Je ne comprend pas pour la vitesse, car chez Vidéotron, on me dit que j'ai la haute vitesse extrême (ce qui se fait de mieux supposément) et que j'ai une vitesse de 10MB/sec qui corresponderait à T3 selon eux. Je fais un test avec d'autres... et j'obtiens une autre vitesse encore...  Download/Upload 9153 / 838 (Kbps) (1117.3 / 102.3 KB/sec) Download/Upload 9.03 (Mbps) / 851 (Kbps) Encore d'autres questions... Vaut-il mieux faire un seul téléchargement à la fois ? 3-5 ? Ne pas limiter ? Avec Limewire Pro, se serait plus rapide ? |

| hahaha c'est encore une vitesse pitoyable  Tu peux te fier au test de vitesse qui indique les valeurs les plus hautes, les basses étant dues au congestionnement du serveur des tests de vitesse. Donc, oui tu peux te mettre en T3, et limite ta vitesse de transfert montante (upload) au plus bas, soit 93Ko/sAvec le genre de connexions que tu as, tu peux te permettre d'effectuer plusieurs téléchargements simultanés, alors ne te gêne pas! LW Pro n'est pas vraiment plus rapide, je n'encourage les gens à passer vers Pro que s'ils veulent encourager le développement de LW. Autre chose qui peut aider ta vitesse de téléchargement avec LW, télécharcher les fichiers avec un grand nombre de sources (chiffre sous la colonne nommée Nb. dans les résultats). Ciao

| Mais on les trouve où les hautes vitesses ?  De Sympatico, je suis passé à modem câble Vidéotron, à la haute vitesse Vidéotron, puis à la haute vitesse extrême de Vidéotron et ce n'est pas encore assez pour avoir une bonne vitesse... Vous faites comment pour aller chercher du 200 ko ? Avec tous ces changements, j'ai encore qu'entre 5 et 35 ko, une fois j'ai vu passer du 50 ko, mais c'est exceptionnel... Bon, je vous remercie tout de même, c'est déjà mieux que les 0 à 5 ko que j'avais... |

| Je suis désolé, mais il y a plusieurs facteurs qui rentrent en ligne de compte. N'oublie pas que sur Gnutella, tu télécharges d'autres utilisateurs et non pas de serveurs, ainsi tu n'obtiendras jamais ta vitesse de téléchargement théorique. Plus de gens partagent, plus la vitesse en sera améliorée. Personnellement, je trouve que la seule chose bien de la haute vitesse extrême de Vidéotron, est le téléchargement illimité comparé à la haute vitesse... Je préfère DSL, la bande passante est illimitée sur n'importe quel forfait et c'est moins cher, mais parfois surfer le web sur câble semble plus rapide que sur DSL. Cela dépend de tes priorités. Il est cependant évident que pour le P2P comme Gnutella avec LimeWire, c'est le DSL qui est le mieux. Pour surfer et les jeux, le câble a un avantage. Ciao
