Default LimeWire quits "unexpectadly" HELP PLEASE

Ok, so my problem is that when I open Limewire it "quits unexpectedly". I checked my firewall settings, and I did as the tips of the day told me:
to enable the Gnutella/LimeWire firewall so i did. But the thing is, they ask me for the TCP & UDP numbers. The instructions tell me to look for these numbers in LimeWire settings. The thing is i can't because LimeWire closes almost instanlty. What should I do? Where do I get the TCP and UDP numbers if i cant access LimeWire for enough time to search them?

here is my info:

1. OS version? Mac OS X
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Mac OS X 10.4.11
7. Where are you trying to connect from? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? the thing is that as soon as I open limewire it quits so i am not able to see any of this
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Telmex
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it says it works
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. no, this has happened to me before, i had to reinstall limewire all over again. and it still wont work
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _ when it stays open long enough for me to see the image, yes.
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? I am using whatever comes whith my system.
16. What country are you living in? Mexico

thank you for you time and help

have some patience and check back at a later time...our resident Mac expert is not online at the moment and hopefully he will take the time to respond to your post (which by the way is nicely detailed)

and always remember we are unpaid volunteers here and have no requirements upon our time! (hence, you may have to wait awhile before you get a response)

Try SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions first.

If still problems, then see Can't launch LW: Bouncing in Dock (click on link).

My guess is you may have Java problems if repair of permissions doesn't work. Reinstall Java from the mac site using their Offline Standalone installer. Offline installations are more reliable than those via mac updater.

Something else you can try is set up a different test account, see if LW works in that account. Setting up a Test Account in OSX (click on link)

As for firewall, if you still have the brick showing after you can eventually open the program, then if OSX firewall is on, put LW on the safe list: OSX Firewall settings for Tiger

If still a firewall (brick icon) after that, try to find the brand name and model number of your modem/router and post the detail back to us.
