Just after launching, now i have the message error:

Unable to locate the application's 'main' class. The class 'com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main' must be public and have a 'public static void main(String[])' method. (LAX)

What can I do now ?

still no fix

I've the same problem, with the same error message. I'm using a Mac G4 Cube with System OS J1-9.2.2 (in other words Japanese language 9.2.2).

So I followed all the posts above - checked the Lax file and threw away the .limewire folder from the preferences. Restarted, but I still get the same error message.

Help!!!!!

There is not much you can improve by throwing away the preferences file (unless you messed up the options really good).

Still working!

I just tried to download the update, but the icon that had appeared on my desktop during the download disappeared and I was left with a folded-corner sheet of paper icon. When I clicked on it, I got the message "The document "LimeWireMac.bin" could not be opened, because the application program that created it could not be found".

Luckily I hadn't deleted my files. So mine appears to be working for now, despite the dire warning that I wouldn't be able to connect. Hope somebody figures this thing out for us.

Hello!

Inside your LimeWire folder look for a file named LimeWire.lax and open that one up in Simple Text.

Does it say the following:

...etc...

lax.dir=/Macintosh HD/Applications (Mac OS 9)/LimeWire/

...etc...

If not then replace your text in your Lax file with this one above and save it. then re-launch LW and see if it will work.

This will not work unless you have the same path.
