Upgrade doesn't work

I just download the new version of limewire
I am running with Mac OS 9.1
Just after launching, now i have the message error:

Unable to locate the application's 'main' class. The class 'com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main' must be public and have a 'public static void main(String[])' method. (LAX)

What can I do now ?
I can't anymore use Limewire....

Than'ks for your help

Daniel

I have encountered the same problem. I reported the bug, but am still looking for some way to solve the problem. Help!

mas April 12th, 2003 12:54 PM

Same problem. I guess no one is going to answer our question. How do I get the old version again? This sucks!

CherylP April 12th, 2003 01:24 PM

Wow, hindsight is 20/20. I wish I'd bothered to read these before I uninstalled my old version, and tried to install the new one. I'm getting the same thing. *sigh*

C'mon guys, let us know if you're doing anything to fix it?

Same problem here. Wish someone from Limewire Support would help us out or else we might have to utilize another program. Hard to find decent ones for MAC. Also, the older version has stopped working for me. Had no choice but to try and upgrade and upgrading prevent me from going back to the older version. What a shame.

I FIGURED IT OUT !

I went into my files and found one call .limewire and I threw it out. then I launched Limewire and it RAN !!!!!

tmacj19 April 12th, 2003 05:28 PM

Did you have the same error message as listed above? I tried it and it didn't work.

Hello!

Inside your LimeWire folder look for a file named LimeWire.lax and open that one up in Simple Text.

Does it say the following:

If not then replace your text in your Lax file with this one above and save it. then re-launch LW and see if it will work.

Hello!

did you have LW turned off when doing the operation?

Have you Re-started your Mac afterwards and then tryed to launch LW?

You could also try this:

Go to:

Macintosh HD>System Folder>Program Preferences>.limewire folder

move that one to the trash but dont empty your trash.

Now Re-start your mac and then see if LW will launch!.
