| Make sure you have the last java released for OS 9: MRJ 2.2.6 for OS 9.2.2 'If possible' untick the option to show Tips on start up. How much ram do you have? How much HDD space? What model of mac is it? It might be worth increasing the maximum ram allocation to LW. Select the program in the finder & apple & i keys & change the ram allocation. Try adding 15-20% more initially. Someone suggested: Play with the memory allocations (get info)--LW needs 60,000KB. But in my experience you should add it bit by bit until you find a workable allocation. The issue with LW in OS 9 & earlier is the Java is out of date. So we need to use it carefully. Learn what it likes on your particular system. I was still using LW 2 in OS 8.5 12 months ago. It was a pain b/c that version of Java was even much older. Rebuild the desktop next time you startup (hold down Command & Option keys as it's starting up. If you don't have a lot of ram then see: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...8426#post98426 |
