The recent Supreme court ruling won't thwart peer-to-peer all that much. Maybe make it a little less convenient, maybe make the P2P apps a little harder to find, but that's all. Various bits of other banned software are still widely distributed. Why would P2P apps be any different? Gnucleus, eMule, Shareaza, Limewire - there is plenty of source code from which to draw "inspiration".

I hope you don't go away. This place could become rather untidy without the cleaning lady.

BTW - Some other P2P forums are bearly functional anymore. Whassup wid dat? Good to see this place is still here.

The forum is on baby get with it! Hey it went down for a few hrs. So that's not the 1st time I've seen that happen. lol It's not the end of the world & p2p will exist if outside of "the centre of the universe" of the usa. Hey life exists, breathes, breeds, loves & makes l... outside of the usa every minute of the day! As will p2p! lol And even those in the usa will still be able to join along. And warmly welcomed! No money needed at present for a p2p share program unless you got it from the wrong place! Be careful in that regard kiddo!

If you mean the Bearshare forum, it was still out when I checked this morining. It would only take one person mentioning piracy on the forums to get FreePeers in plenty of trouble.

So the grizzled vetrans at FP didn't completely disappear down a black hole... Vinnie once said in a post that if Bearshare was ever forced to shut down, he would probably open source the client. That would certainly help spread Gnutella around!

Clues are generally obvious but unnoticed, perhaps so in this case.

Oh well, the skipper does seem to usually sail in the right direction.

And it they are still taking our $$$, then FreePeers might be renamed to ExpensivePeers.

Hahaha, given the title of this lovely thread, I was expecting something far longer and less boring from you, ursula or should I say pripla? Much like you to keep it short and cut straight to the bullshit.

Good luck, doing whatever it is you do when you're not an utterly conceited waste of time and space...

Best wishes--sorry to see such collateral damage.

If you have a chance to link to the relevant discussion about BearShare's future, I'd appreciate it (not enough time to read through the new forum to find the good info)>

Thanks
