limewire freezing up and download cancelling problems

Like the title says have been having 2 issues with limewire pro 4.12.3 i run windows xp on a lap top and am having problems with limewire freezing up when I do ctrl alt del to bring up task manager it shows limewire exe at 97,736 and LW is froze I have to shut down and restart , my commit charge down the bottom is 425/919m . next question is how do I cancel downloads so they dont restart (return) it restarts down loads if I cancel them from the download list and even when I delete them from my incomplete folder it always brings them back up and restarts them again and again ..

Update your Java & see if that helps. Use the JRE offline installer & remove any old Java versions before installing the new one.

Go to tools > options > uploads & untick the box to share partially downloaded files > Apply > ok. Now delete the files from your incomplete list & restart LW. If that doesn't work, try deleting the files from your incomplete folder outside of LW. Go to your LW library, click on Incomplete Files & click Explore. Once the folder's open, delete the files from there. Reboot your computer, restart LW & see if they're gone. Are you getting an error message when you try to delete the files?

If these things still won't delete, try one of the tools here. I've used Unlocker & DelinvFile (ask-leo link) & they're both good.

Otherwise, I'd suggest scanning your computer for viruses!
