I am having the same problem options menu will not open have tried deleting limewire re installing java and clearing all limewire entries from registry but to no avail. any one know how to remove the lime wire registration. looks like this was caused by a virus, but mccaffe spy bot and adware find nothing. it created a download folder in fonts called ' which i deleted when you reload limewire state cannot fid download folder and then when loaded shows this folder as down load location but it not on my system can any one help thank in advance themekon

Hi I have run virus check, spy bot search and destroy, lava soft adaware, sytem mech, all find nothing. any other suggestions please

I have done everything that has been suggested but its still the same, options just flashes then dissapears.
Getting really hacked off now and thinking about leaving Limewire. I need to control Uploads/downloads etc.

Im still having same problem have tried unistalling everything trawling regitry and removing all references to lw but still same problem when reinstalled. still not having to register following reload therefore sure i have not removed original password file which seems to control opening lw any help please

I have had this problem it is caused by what i think is the remains of a worm run msconfig and look in start up programs if you find windows\fonts\svchost. that is the cause you need to get rid of it . it keeps starting its self up. I had to start ivn safe mode and use system mechnic to remove it from start up. deleting it in msconfig when in safe mod did not seem to work. but once you get rid of it lime wire ask for a new download folder set one up. then go into libary in lime wire and delete the directory that is gose to font. hope this helps . PS get rid of the virus first and make sure your firewall is blocking the windows\fonts\svchost asap The Mekon
