Some of them I am not sure their purpose. :D I only mentioned the main ones. And there's a few others also.
tables.props I forgot about, that's your settings for the interface that is different to the default, such as if you stretched the interface wider or higher and also your settings and columns and widths of them chosen for the search, shared and library windows.
mojito.props is obviously for the mojito protocol. It seems to contain minimal details.
I suspect one of them is a hash check for files with known viruses.

Are you using File_Girl's LPE version? If yes, try the original LPE version. There's been one report of File_Girl's version not connecting as well as the other version. Download link is on the first post of the first page of this thread. Disable that versions file-virus scanning in settings.

Depends whether you are on Windows 7 or XP. Only Vista and Windows 7 have a Roaming folder.

Windows 7 is
C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\AppData\Roaming\Limewire

Windows XP is
C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\Application Data\limewire

If you are not seeing AppData / Application Data folder then it means you have not properly enabled viewing hidden files and folders in the View option settings.

Another trick is Click on "Start" and click on "Run", now copy and paste this code here:
%APPDATA%
Then click "OK"
That will take you inside the Application Data folder where you should see the LW folder if using Windows XP.

Or for Windows 7 simply copy it into the search box in the Start menu.

Or alternatively for Windows 7 copy this into the Start menu
%APPDATA%\
with the backslash on the end then press enter.

Win 7 example:

Oops timing, I bumped my head as Birdy jumped in front of me to reply lol. :D Birdy and LOTR were taken to the nearest hospital for a cup of coffee.

I click on Start and type in %APPDATA%\ and a bunch of file folder pop up, including Limewire. So I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do to get Limewire up and running properly.

Oh and there isn't a "run" option in the start menu that I can see. Assuming it's available for Windows 7.

When you see the LimeWire folder show up, that is your preferences folder. The idea is you send that folder to the recycle bin. Deleting your LW preferences folder can often help fix issues. But you would need to install the connection fix after that. :)

If you had any incomplete files you wished to keep, you should back-up the downloads file from within the preferences folder before deleting the LW prefs folder.

Which LPE version did you install, File_Girl's version or the original version?

I don't have any songs save, that's the problem.

How do I install a connection fix and I don't know which version I have except 5.6.2. I don't think it's File_Girl's version.

LPE ConnectFix. Simply use it. But preferably after you have deleted your old prefs folder just in case it contains some corrupted files.

The first post of the first page of this thread shows the two LPE options. But perhaps you did not get your download link from here. The difference you will see between the two versions is the startup screen. File_Girl's is different.

File_Girl's version is the lower start-up screen. The LOL image above it was metapirate's original version.

There was no gnutella file in my lw preferences folder '; if that helps me to connect , that could be my problem .

Lord of the Rings October 14th, 2012 02:16 AM

Then yes, get the LPE ConnectFix and try again. :) By default, the LPE ConnectFix installer will replace a gnutella.net file that might already be there.
