If you go to Tools menu, Advanced Tools and look top-left of the window, does it say you are firewalled? Are you using LW Basic or Pro? In Tools > Options > Misc, is the option checked to send LW anonymous information? I'd recommend unchecking the option if it is checked. I installed 5.3.6 but do not get the same error. Mine is almost the same as the one in the image I posted earlier. |
Yes , you are behind a firewall and support firewall transfers ; i am always connected to 3 ultrapeers so i think i must now be on lw basic ; as we talked about recently , for several years i was always connected to 5 ultrapeeers ; |
One fix as discussed in post #395. As far as the firewall issue. Can you give your http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-you-post.html The problem will most likely either be your computer software firewall, possibility of other security software, NAT effect via your router. I am not aware of any ISP blocks or filtering in your area for P2P. Gladly our country is mostly clear of such BS. |
Well yes i was sending information to lw ; as advised i just then unchecked that little box ; when i click on that link to learn more , that webpage is not available . |
Do you suspect that we are getting different image errors because you have apple mac and i have hp windows vista ;??? |
I did my testing on Windows. I can't remember if it was Win 7 or 8. |
1 Attachment(s) OK, I just installed 5.3.6 on Win XP and got the identical error as you. LW took about 10 seconds to connect as Turbo with 5 dark blue bars. Connection window says no firewall detected. I vaguely remember the error looking a little different on earlier LW versions and stood out more but now it seems the error depends on Windows version. Attachment 6703 So I would suggest it is not something to worry about. BTW did you get this sorted out? Do you use the Blocklist I supply or only the built-in LW blocklist? If you don't wish to use the one I supply I can give you the most likely ranges of those particular hosts. Here's a couple of image samples: Uploading using Phex which is identical to what was happening to you and Connections with BearShare. Although Phex has a built-in blocklist, it does not block those ranges. Neither does the LW built-in list. There's more other than the ones in the images that they use. Their objective is to fill your upload slots so nobody else can download from you. They are BOTs (programmed to do what they do), we refer to as Hostiles. AKA Hostile BOTs |
