Qu'est-ce que tu dis LODR? :D |
Salut tout le monde, Stief, I've read your link but I'm snowed in at work since Friday as I travel by motorcycle. So as soon as summer comes by again, probably in July..., I'll look again into that Java issue and report how it goes so it can maybe help someone else here. Keep up the good work !! A plus |
FIXED !!!!! Salut tout le monde, Hi all, FIXED !!! All I did was install the Security Update 2005-002.... et voilą !!! Ta-dam, bam... all is working fine as usual. I'm a happy man again, and thanks to all for your help, this forum is great because of the people here. See ya around Eric |
I think what annoys me about this thread is that you never tried my 1st suggestion of installing the Java using the standalne java which no doubt would have fixed your problem. Instead we've got a 3 page thread with images blah blah Quote:

Couldn't install Java 1.4.2v2 LOTR, why would you be annoyed??. Because I haven't followed YOUR advise?? . I DID. Or is it because it's a 3 page thread ??? I didn't know there was a limit on thread size... Maybe you didn't read all my following posts. I DID TRY to RE-INSTALL the Java 1.4.2v2 update but it CAN'T be done. This is what Apple has to say about this: Mac OS X Panther initially shipped with installations of J2SE 1.3.1 and 1.4.1. Java 1.4.2 Update 2 is now available for Mac OS X Panther v10.3.4 and later, based on the J2SE 1.4.2_05 SDK. It includes improved behavior for applets in Safari, and increased stability for desktop Java applications, including all of the improvements in 1.4.2 Update 1. Please note that 1.4.2 Update 2 completely replaces the current Java 1.4 implementation on Panther systems (1.4.1 or 1.4.2), and is not removable once installed. Even if you remove the package from the "receipts" in "Library", trash it, and download the thing from Apple, the installer will stop and tell you it's already there.... Feel free and be my guest to try it yourself... I had a back-up of it on a Firewire drive so I could put it back in place afterward. Read my newer thread, it should please you since it's short... I only mention the solution... And I don't usually Blah-blah around... Still, I wish you a nice day |
Read very very carefully: Can't launch LW: Bouncing in Dock (click on link) particularly at the bottom of the post. This has been discussed on the forum many times before. You could have installed the Java .. not using Softw Update ... using the Standalone Java & by removing the Java receipt. But you read it all oh you knew it all already & had Stief running around in circles not knowing what was happening b/c you hadn't read the thread after all. Wasting members & moderators time & wasting space on the forum is a concern for me yes. This forum server doesn't have unlimited space & speed & was forced to upgrade just months ago but is still limited. Quote:
