how bout

a limit the d/l speed so if u r on dial-up the files dont eat up all the bandwidth and yes a pause button would be good to have to keep it from continuing once u need the bandwidth for a internet page for a few mins.

Add search results for files to the download mesh (or test them, then add them).

Add results from one search to all searches, whre they fit.

Multiple filters

7/8/04

I would like to request that multiple filter lists for keywords be available. That way one can change lists according to the type of search one wants to do.

I would also like to be able to order/sort the keyword filter lists. This would make manageing such lists easier.

It would be nice if these filter lists could be sellected directly from the search pane/window.

It would also be nice if one could have a place on the search pane/window to enter keywords to exclude just for that search.

A way to enter a search for an exact phrase (such as enclosed in "") would improve the power of searching.

Thanks,

Doyle

If I'm understanding things correctly here, ANYONE can "Browse Hosts" on MY computer?

And see all the files that I've got in the "Shared" folder on this computer?

Can you not make it to where other users can NOT browse everything you've got (like KL)?

Or is this what the "Trusted User/Sharer" thing is supposed to accomplish?

Seems kind of nuts to let anyone and everyone have access to a list of everything you've got. Pete

Maximize upload speed based user defined preferences.

It would be nice if I never saw a “upload speed 0kb” again.
I have an idea to prevent this:
:D
lets say, I set my “upload Bandwidth” at 40kb’s, my “Max Upload Slots” set at 40(users). Ok that’s a lot of users, but I could do it right? So assume that 40 users actually try to upload from me, they are now downloading at 1kb. If I am the only user sharing this file, and it’s a decent size file, that’s going to take way to long, and I doubt its going to be successful.
So if there was a ratio added to connect these user defined features, so that the min speed any one user might download from would be, say 5kb or so, that would be great.

LimeWire does its best to prevent uploading at <1KB, unfortunately there are some other clients that frequently upload at very low speeds.

How about a slider that allows upload speeds between 6.93k/s and 10.94. The current LimeWire scheme of quantizing us as modem/cable is a real pain. I have a cable connection but I sometimes set my conection to "modem" just to slow down my uploads when I need to do stuff, can't the slider go all the way down? I mean 1/2 the time I just want to slow down my personal uploads 'cause I like seeing 60+ people connected to my PC when I set it to "UltraPeer". Cmon guys make the upload cap slider go from 0.001 to unlimited (on a log scale), I wanna share but your quantizer makes it hard. Soz Im so poor as to only have 15k upstream but you know, takes all sorts.

Hey, just as I'm sitting here drinking some really good australian beer I thought "hey how 'bout a toggle so you could select between file uploader and network UltraPeer" just too keep the network churning along out here in the boonies. Cheers.

LimeWire already reduces the upload speed for ultrapeers, even if you can't see that in the options.

A feature to search your library within Limewire (for keywords, etc.) would be amazing.
