I'm not a greedy, I just want max 25 KB/S Download speed

Hi Guys,

First of all I would like to thanx muesures for his great post and recommendation on how to configure the LW right.

Actually, I'm in a company LAN with more than 5 P.C connected. Internet speed is Upstream: 512 DownStream: 256. I've configured the same as what mesures stated in the first post, before I was getting MAX 0 - 2 KB/s. After the recommendation by Meesure I got MAX 11 KB/s and time-to-time drooping to 5 KB/s.

I was just maling a light hearted comment, on the technicality of the post and the information it contained........quite impressive and I don'nt understand most ot bit, but do admire the enthusiasm for the subject.

Someone says, It might be Torjan Hourses or Virus that the P.C is infected by, but I'm sure it is not. Beucuase I've installed the Latest Verison of Symentac Antivirus plus MS AntiSpyware. IN addtion, the NoteBook new and recently has been opened. ANd I've never downlaoded a file is less than 355 or 765 KB of size. The files which I have downloaded and it took three weeks to finished are Aerobics Movies with more that 600 MB of size.

Code:

Downloading From 4 - 6 Hosts            Speed 0 KB/s

Any help ?

Hmm. Seems my nick has mutated.
Anyway.

Sorry for not replying to you people but a man's gotta study for exams. In less that a week I'll be done with those annoyances and come back to help you guys a lot more often.

padraic. It seems that comcast is your problem. I suggest switching although it has been said that there is a way to get around this hindrance without taking such drastic measures.

habilbaby... uh my (nick)name is murasame (thatk God you got it right the 2nd time :)).
It seems that you have a firewall blocking your connection. And if itsn't that, then it must be a router (you said you're on a LAN right?). Check with the one responsible (if you are allowed to do so) to see if it's possible to configure them.

john, are you saying that my initial post is too technical? I tried to make it as less technical as possible (I'm not much of a technology geek myself so I prolly couldn't make it more technical even if I tried...), but if you trully think it's difficult to understand then I will try to make an extra effort in making it even simpler. After all, I want it to be understandable by people who have little or no experience with computers (without it being insulting to their intelligence). Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi murasame:D ,

Yes, I'm in a LAN and Behind a ADSL Modem functing as a Router and I'm the Administrator of the Network. IN the network the Forwarding ports are from 1 ~ 65535 and the LW uses 6346 which is can LW functioning Properly without any problem. IN the Work LAN too.

Any recommendations >

I suppose you must have checked the "It's them damn ISPs again..." lead, huh?

I'm also guessing that you know how to properly port-forward (just in case: http://portforward.com/).

You can try doing the following: go to Limewire, click Tools, Options and then click Advanced. The click the Firewall option and change the port there (here is a list of ports by ursula: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=24523)
