According to my ISP (Cablevisión, México City) my download speed is 128K (that is how they advertise it), I just called them and they tell me my upload speed is 64K.

Tipically my DL speed goes from 0-1 KB/s. Today, after tweaking a little from the advice in here I am reaching 4-10 KB/s, and I think I could get a little more.

Any help would be super appreciated!!

If 64kb is all you got for dld, then 10KB is all that you can get (maybe even more. I think your speed is closer to 128 than what they told you)

Ahriman June 17th, 2005 05:20 PM

Actually, my dld speed is supposed to be 128 and my ul speed 64...

Yesterday I was reaching up to 14KBps dld speed, something entirely new to me...

Also I got the dreaded "Received incoming this session: false" line... Anyway to resolve this? (if its even hurting my speed..)

Thanks!

Regards from México!

Your post was very informative. thanks. My speeds are still slow on some things. And others just sit there taking up space. :)

off topic question: how do you get a pic to show under your name?

purplkoala June 17th, 2005 08:49 PM

well after searching the site, I figured it out (how to get a pic under my name). Now if getting download speeds was as easy.. :D

purplkoala June 17th, 2005 09:02 PM

Wow, I just got speeds of up to 47kb's on one download while the other might get 3. I have found that if I am looking for a certain file and have no luck, I try again another time and sometimes, I get what I want. I'm fairly new to LW, so I don't know all the ins and outs of it yet but I have become a downloading fool. lol :D

purplkoala June 18th, 2005 10:50 PM

don't ask me how, but I just got a 104kb download... shock!! lol :D

murasame June 22nd, 2005 10:00 PM

Well, purplkoala that's good to hear.

Ahriman, I (obviously) read your post wrong... Anyway, 128K... If it's KB then your speeds are way off (remember, 128KB = 1024kb). If it's 128kb, then you should be seeing speeds of about 16KB (which isn't far off).
If you don't get it, read the initial post carefully.

Hi Murasame,

We got a new connection as below
Code:

ADSL
  Line Status showtime (G.DMT)
  Downstream Rate 512 kbps (interleaved)
  Upstream Rate 128 kbps (interleaved)

How much percentage should I put the download slider and how much upload percentage slider??

The max speed I'm getting is 6 kb/s:mad:   Is that joke ??

Thanks,

Habibalby

Well, as of today my purchased speed is (according to the ISP) 512K download/256K upload.

I adjusted LW Pro as follows:

Max DL: 3
DL bandwidth: 60KB/s
UP bandwidth: 38.75KB/s
UL per person: 3
Max slots: 3

I also configured the OS X Firewall so it will allow LW to use the default port. (I still get the "FALSE" line...)

To my joy, I got to a blazing 22KB/s for a moment there... It seems to be holding around the 10-15KB/s

Thanks for the help Murasame!
