We can offer you help here, if you're not happy with Pro's email support but we're not official LW support - just volunteer users who help other users. If you want official support then you're going to have to email Pro support again.

It makes it a bit hard to help you though - when you don't respond to thread replies.

For instance - your thread here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post339362
No response... we don't know whether you tried LOTR's advice or not.

And here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...s-basic-2.html
You didn't say whether you actually did delete the preferences folder.

Are you actively downloading when LW shuts down (ie downloads in progress)? If you're still using LW 4, try these tips (there may be some that you've already tried): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post251910

I have

I have done everything advised. Deleted refernece folder. Uninstalled 5.1 and installed earlier version, turned off firewall. Reinstalledd java. Deleted download list. Unchecked ultrapeer. Turned offf firewall and program will still not stay up without me sitting in front of my pc restarting the program every few minutes

Are you actively downloading/uploading when LW shuts down (ie downloads/uploads in progress)?

Have you tried reducing both your upload & download bandwidth (tools > options > advanced > transfers & click on both limit upload & download boxes to see the sliders)?

You could also try disabling DHT & TLS (tools > options > advanced > super really advanced > performance, click 'ok' to save the change).

Hmmm

Yes I am actively downloading, i will try these. I have broadband service through comcast

FrustrATED

tRIED YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND THE PROGRAM RAN FOR 4 MINUTES AND SHUT DOWN

birdy March 17th, 2009 03:30 AM

Well, if you've tried all the fixes that you've been offered in your many threads (you did purge the download queue, didn't you?), there's nothing more I can do for you... especially since you feel like you have to SHOUT through a post. That's pretty rude.

My 9 year old has better manners than you:rolleyes:

Go & try your luck with Pro support.

Have you tried right-clicking program change compatibility mode, for XP or earlier, choose Windows 2000 or NT compatibility, if using Vista choose Windows XP compatibility. And setting LW to 'run as' Admin. Steps 5 & 6 in Fixes for LW thread.

If you have totally removed, cleaned the system of both Java & LW, then reinstalled both using Offline installers, & have also deleted the LW preferences & still problems, then there may be something on your system that is conflicting with LW. It might be Alcohol or something else on your system, perhaps a conflicting toolbar (this can be an issue too) or newly installed files somewhere. Perhaps Direct X or Video card drivers need updating. Perhaps View mode needs changing under compatibility. These are all things to try. :)

Did you purge your incomplete files? Not share any files initially?

LW 5 needs Java 1.6 64-bit, will not function properly with Java 1.6 32-bit.

Did delete preferences folder, disable ultrapeer support, and do start downloading for up to 2 minutes when program shuts down

Lord of the Rings March 18th, 2009 09:55 PM

Perhaps downgrade until another LW 5 version comes out. Your problem has me stumped. Is there any security programs such as spyware or such that may need LW to be put on its safe list. Something is obviously clashing or not working.

I presume you have lots of ram, lots of spare hard disk space, hard disk drives that are defragmented? Do you defragment your drives occasionally?
A program I like to use is Crap Cleaner which helps clean the system of unnecessary registry rubbish & old version program parts that only cause to be a problem. :)

There's always this option http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html though use your Pro installer instead of course. :)

Is there an email address for limewire? if so, what is it? I've tried getting support for limewire pro, but no luck.
