New here and cant connect

Downloaded limewire pro this morning. Cant connect. Just says starting connection. Ive tried some of the things on the stickys like allowing limewire to my firewall but nothing happens.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if still no good click on (system details) fill in and post back here

i have mc afees and cant figure how to get this lw pro going too, doing the same saying starting connection and thats it, please help me

Is your firewall setup to allow Limewire full access to your computer -- if not do that now - ensure that you only have 1 firewall running. windows XP & Vista come with a firewall, so if you have a antivirus suite which includes a firewall disable the windows firewall.Also if you have a modem/router this will have a firewall which needs to be reconfigured to allow LW.

how do i check if i have only 1 firewall setup or not

Check your security centre -- it will be an icon (green,blue,yellow,red) on your desktop and looks like a shield -- open it and it will tell you which firewall is running on your computer -- click on windows firewall and make sure it is off/disabled -- I presume that your mcafee is a antivirus as well as a firewall -- you only need 1 firewall running on your computer -- more than 1 causes conflicts etc. -- now go to my earlier post and follow the fixes (if LW will not connect)

i have just bought limewire pro and have mc afees and doesnt work either, somebody please help me out if not working, is there any other software for dowloading free music and can i get my money back from limwire
