| The only thing that happens repeatedly is, a Java window opens after the LW loadup screen starts. The screen says: "One or more necessary files appear to be invalid. This is generally caused by a corrupted installation. Please try downloading and installing LimeWire again. If the problem persists, please visit www.limewire.com and click the 'Support' link. Thak You." LimeWire version 4.12.6 Java version 1.5.0_11 from Sun Microsystems Inc. Windows XP v. 5.1 on x86 Free/total memory: 3159176/4128768 com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader$StartupFailed Exception: file [LimeWire.jar] has hash of [0B27FDA0142B4B9559F936A9C3EBBDB8] instead of expected [230136A3E23FE1D848AE9E024838A41E] at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader.verifyHashes( GUILoader.java:328) at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader.sanityCheck(G UILoader.java:294) at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader.load(GUILoade r.java:48) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Nativ e Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknow n Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Un known Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main.main(Main.java:44) STARTUP ERROR! etc...... I've tried deleting it and reinstalling it again, but still no luck, and I've also tried your suggestions... they still didn't work. Even though we are getting the system for free, is it possible for someone specifically a technician from limewire, be able to help us out.... Or is this a form of way to tell us that, it time for us to stop getting freebies and start paying!! |

| Sorry, there aren't any LW technicians here ![]() Try this: 1. Reinstall Java. Use the JRE offline installer here. Remove your current Java version before you install the new one. http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp 2. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW is properly closed. See points 2 & 3 below. If you've only used very recent versions of LW then the folder will be in point 3's location. If you've used much older versions in the past, there could be a folder in both locations. Fixes for LimeWire Deleting this folder will kill all of your settings within options...you'll have to go back thru & reset your options afterwards. 3. Now reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (not the recommended one). http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml A corrupted installation is a corrupted installation...whether you have Pro or basic. |
