Try this: Install Java first. Use the JRE offline installer & remove any old Java versions from your computer before you install this one.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

Once you've got Java installed, intsall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (not the recommended one).
Lime Wire » Download LimeWire

If things still won't install, try using the 'other' installer...see the link below

I said LW would not allow me to pay for the upgrade.
